Just recently a blatantly false TV ad from State Senate candidate Terri LeGrand hit the airwaves. Now big money special interests are doubling down on the dishonest attacks.
A new ad from “Fair Future NC” is making the same false claims that Senator Joyce Krawiec sponsored legislation that would gut coverage for preexisting conditions.
It’s simply not true.
You can read it for yourself on page 3 of the law: “No limitations shall be based on pre-existing conditions.”
Here are the facts.
- Senator Krawiec worked to pass a bipartisan bill that established standards for Association Health Plans(AHP) so that small businesses could take advantage of the same health insurance benefits as large corporations and offer more affordable coverage to their employees.
- She worked with people on both sides of the aisle to ensure coverage for preexisting conditions and wrote those protections into the law.
- Senate Bill 86 was passed the state legislature with broad support from both Democrats and Republicans.
No matter what party you belong to, it’s important to tell the truth. But sadly, that’s not happening on one side of the race for Senate District 31.
