- North Carolina may have declared independence from Great Britain 13 MONTHS before the Declaration of Independence was signed? (May 20, 1775 — so break the hotdogs out early next year!)
- Thomas Jefferson originally included a passage against slavery in the Declaration of Independence? (Ahead of his time.)
- John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4th, 1826 — the 50th anniversary of the Independence Day? (Talk about a legacy!)
