2016 has been unsettling for many ACA customers, to say the least, and many people have questions about their 2017 coverage. It’s just around the corner, so we want to make sure that all of you with ACA plans know your coverage options.
Here are the details:
- Aetna and United Healthcare have pulled out of the ACA Marketplace in North Carolina for 2017.
- That leaves Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina as the only insurer offering ACA plans in all 100 counties of the state.
- In these five counties, Cigna is also offering their Cigna Connect plans:
- Chatham
- Johnston
- Orange
- Nash
- Wake
- If you were insured through Aetna or United Healthcare, you will be automatically switched to a plan that closely matches your previous one. However, you should still check and make sure you’re enrolled for next year in the plan that makes sense for you and your family.
- ACA rates are going to increase on average by 24% in 2017. This increase will probably not affect you if you qualify for federal subsidies, because they’re also increasing.
