A North Carolina General Assembly proposal (Senate Bill 411) would hold Big Pharma drug manufactures accountable by making them notify and justify any major Rx price hikes.

The Coalition SUPPORTS to this legislation.

Under this bill, drug manufacturers would be required to notify consumers and regulators prior to any substantial price increase for a drug.

They would also be required to justify their proposed price increase.

Nearly a quarter of every healthcare dollar spent goes toward prescription drugs. Consumers have a right to know when prices will be significantly hiked and why.

Actions related to this bill will be factored into a member’s Affordable Healthcare Grade at the close of the legislative session.
